Keeping your glasses clean the right way helps protect your lenses and extend the life of your eyewear.
1. Wash and dry your hands before handling your glasses.
2. Rinse your glasses under a gentle stream of lukewarm tap water to remove dust and debris that could scratch the lenses. Avoid hot water, as it may damage lens coatings.
3. Apply a small drop of lotion-free dishwashing liquid to each lens.
4. Gently clean both sides of the lenses and all parts of the frame.
5. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
6. Gently shake off excess water.
7. Dry your glasses with a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth (shammy).
Important Don'ts
❌ Don't use your shirt, blouse, or other clothing to clean your lenses, especially when they are dry. Clothing fibers can scratch lenses.
❌ Don't use household glass cleaners or surface cleaners. These products may contain chemicals that can damage lens coatings.
❌ Don't use paper towels, napkins, tissues, or toilet paper. Paper products (tree products) can scratch lenses, leave lint behind, and damage coatings over time.
Remember
The safest and most effective way to clean your glasses is with lukewarm water, a small amount of lotion-free dish soap, and a clean microfiber cloth.
